For Shopify and other online stores · updated 1 November 2026
Check your store for what Google flags as "misrepresentation", before you apply or appeal.
Google suspends Merchant Center accounts for misrepresentation without saying exactly what's wrong. Most suspensions come down to a short list: no clear way to contact you, missing or vague return and shipping policies, prices that don't match, unfinished pages, and claims nobody can check. This scan reads your store the way a reviewer would and lists what to fix.
- Contact page, email, phone and business address
- Return policy: time limit, condition, return shipping, refund method
- Shipping policy: delivery times and costs
- Privacy policy, terms and About page
- Product price vs structured data vs your real variant prices (Shopify)
- Placeholder text, unprovable claims and fake-urgency widgets

We read your public pages (home, one product, and your policy, contact and about pages). Nothing is changed, and we don't keep the results.
What Google's misrepresentation review looks at
Google's misrepresentation policy covers stores that hide who they are, leave out information shoppers need, or make offers and claims that don't hold up. Google doesn't publish a checklist, so this scan covers the problems merchants most often report fixing before an appeal succeeds.
| Area | What to show | Common mistake |
|---|---|---|
| Who you are | A contact page with at least two of: email, phone, address. An About page. | Only a contact form, or a Gmail address with no business name anywhere |
| Returns | How many days, what condition, who pays return shipping, how and when refunds are paid | A one-line policy, or one that doesn't match the return settings in Merchant Center |
| Shipping | Delivery times and costs, per country if you ship abroad | "Ships fast!" with no times, or costs that differ from your Merchant Center shipping settings |
| Prices | The same price on the page, in its structured data, in your feed and at checkout | A currency or discount app changes the shown price but not the feed |
| Finished site | Real text on every page and policy | Theme demo text, "Lorem ipsum", "Your store name" or an empty About page |
| Claims | Only claims you can back up on the page | "Cures", "guaranteed results", "#1 brand", countdown timers that reset |
If your account is already suspended
- Run the scan and fix every "Likely problem", then the "Check" items.
- Make your Merchant Center business information (name, address, phone, website) match your site exactly.
- Check your feed: prices, currency and availability must match the product pages.
- Wait until the changes are live, then request a review in Merchant Center. Don't request one before everything is fixed: a failed review can mean a longer wait before the next one.
Want a second pair of eyes before you appeal? Email [email protected] with your store address and we'll go through the results with you.

We check every page Google reviews, list exactly what to change and, from the $90 package, write the missing refund, shipping, contact and about pages plus your review request text. From $40. No Google password needed. Google makes the final decision, so nobody can guarantee reinstatement.
Questions
Does a clean scan mean Google will approve my store?
No. Google decides, and it also looks at things this scan can't see: checkout, payment methods, your feed, business verification and how your store compares with others. A clean scan means the most common problems aren't showing on your public pages.
Does it work on stores that aren't on Shopify?
Yes. On any site it follows the links in your header and footer to find policy and contact pages. On Shopify it also tries Shopify's standard policy addresses and compares the page price with the product's real variant prices.
Why does the price check matter?
When the price Google crawls on your page doesn't match your feed, products get disapproved, and repeated mismatches can lead to a misrepresentation review. Apps that convert currency or show discounts are a common cause.
Is this connected to Google or Shopify?
No. DisputeKit is independent and isn't affiliated with Google or Shopify. Run by Shubhankar Sharma; see contact.
